The presidents of Alliance for Life.  Campaign Life and Coalition for the Protection of Human Life took advantage of their collective presence in Lethbridge, Alberta on July 5 and met to discuss goals and strategies for the Canadian pro-life movement.

Heather Stilwell, Jim Hughes, Bill Lenihan and other representatives of the three national organizations discussed future co-operative strategies and outlined priorities for the next meeting, to take place in Winnipeg in October.  Reaction of members and pro-life groups to the first meeting of the national groups last January has been very positive.  Meetings will continue on a regular basis, with a view to strengthening and unifying the Canadian pro-life movement.

Leaders of the three national groups agreed to support a Private Members’ Motion which seeks Charter of Rights protection for the unborn child.  Motion M-29 is a votable item and is scheduled for the first of five hours of debate on September 11.
