Campaign Life Coalition brought London-based African pro-life leader Obianuju (Uju) Ekeocha to Canada from Nov. 4-10 to address various meetings in Ottawa and Toronto.

On Nov. 7, she attended a parliamentary prayer breakfast hosted by Conservative MP David Anderson (Cypress Hills-Grasslands). The event was attended by a dozen MPs, senators, and political staff. She criticized the Trudeau government’s focus on promoting sexual and reproductive health in the developing world, saying that killing unborn babies is a foreign concept to most African women. She said genuine health, education, and nutritional needs are being ignored at the expense of abortion and birth control.
Later that day, Ekeocha attended the CLC activists’ meeting in Ottawa, which was attended by 80 local pro-lifers. The following day, she addressed the CLC clergy luncheon held at the National House of Prayer, attended by pastors and religious leaders from various faith communities. She reiterated her message about Canada’s misplaced foreign aid priorities.
While in the nation’s capital she met Fr. Tony Van Hee, who witnesses and prays on Parliament Hill every day the House of Commons is in session.

Later in the week, she attended the Cardinal’s breakfast in Toronto before spending the day at Campaign Life Coalition’s Toronto offices. She spoke with staff and volunteers, sat for a lengthy interview with The Interim (to appear in the New Year), and sat for the staff Christmas card photo. She also addressed the CLC Toronto activist meeting, which was attended by 60 area pro-lifers.
Ekeocha has a book and documentary coming out in 2018 about abortion and Africa.
