Youth for Life

The Canadian Youth Pro-Life Organization (CYPLO) came into existence in 1974 with a purpose: to bring together pro-life high school, college and university students and young working people to educate themselves, grow in leadership and effectiveness in the pro-life movement, to transform society, to ensure respect for all the weak, defenseless and helpless.

In April 1983, the new executive dedicated itself to remaking society in a pro-life image. April was the month in which CYPLO held its annual and highly successful conference, this year at Michael Power High School in Toronto, where the theme was “The Future is Ours.”

Since that time, CYPLO has been active with speaking engagements, abortion clinic demonstrations, letter-writing, and most importantly the CYPLO Newsletter which is published once, every three months. The Newsletter is informative and contains suggestions for action, and has been sent since June ’83 to our more than 500 members across the country.

As pro-lifers all know, sincerity is essential, but it is not enough. We must band together and be supportive of each other in any way we can if we are to overcome the pro-death forces in our society. CYPLO desperately needs memberships if we are to continue at our present expense rate. Most of our CYPLO members are students and are therefore non-wage-earners. With gas bills, phone bills, stamps and publishing costs, we need all the help we can get.
