Some of our younger readers will remember the wistful little pop tune from which this editorial note takes its title. We assume everyone has asked himself or herself this question from time to time: What would I do if I had a million dollars?
Since most of us will never have the good fortune actually to have to answer that question, we propose a more modest question: What would you do if you had, say, a thousand dollars? or maybe two thousand? Now we’re getting into the realm of reality.
Before you answer, we ask you please to take a minute to look at the advertisement on page 10 of this issue, entitled, “A Million Dollars to Save a Million Babies.”
