Los Angeles. The Knights of Columbus in Los Angeles have been asked to remove from membership pro-abortion Congressman Ed Roybal. Roybal has an unblemished pro-abortion voting record.
Previous requests to expel the congressman failed because of a lack of awareness and fear of being charged with racist discrimination. Roybal is Black
The millions-strong Roman Catholic fraternal order with headquarters in New Haven Conn., is now being pressured to expel from its ranks all Catholics who take a pro-abortion position, including Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts.
Such Catholics are causing untold scandal, it is said, by contradicting the solemn teaching of the Church that the deliberate killing of the unborn is never permitted.
The society has branches in all Canadian provinces. It is not known yet whether federal or provincial politicians who accept a woman’s right to kill her unborn baby are among its members. In Ontario the government has a number of Catholic MPPs. It is promoting abortion facilities in every sizable city in the province.
