Interim Staff:
Last year, the nation-wide Million Person March for Children drew an estimated 1.5 million Canadians to demonstrate for parental rights and in an interview with LifeSiteNews, Muslim pro-family activist Kamel El-Cheikh, head of Hands Off Our Kids, said his group has quadrupled in size in the months leading up to the second Million Person March.
Hands off Our Children is a movement of parents opposed to LGBT indoctrination in schools.
El-Cheikh, whose group organized the Million Person March for Children in September 2023, said, “Canadians from coast to coast were coming into the movement and saying, ‘I was part of the million people march last year, I wasn’t part of working with you directly, but we tried to help and fill that void, and we did a great job. We had a massive turnout. I’d like to work with you officially’.” He said, “these are Christian Canadians, these are First Nations, these are Sikhs, these are Muslims.”
El-Cheikh said, “Now, we have First Nations representatives, chiefs that represent 100,000 people that are in our movement.”
He said Hands Off Our Kids is “75 per cent bigger than last year” and that the group now has managers in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, Ontario, and Quebec.
His organization works with other pro-family groups, including Campaign Life Coalition, the Mama Bears, Veterans for Freedom, and Canadians for Truth. El-Cheikh said the message the Million Person March for Children wants to send the country is that “Canada’s parents will parent Canada’s kids” and “we won’t allow our kids to be politicized.”
The second Million Person March for Children is scheduled for Sept. 20 and those interested in take part can check the Hands Off Our Kids website for more information.
El-Cheikh encouraged families to take their children out of school for the day, “And come down and come celebrate with us all day, saying “It’s a monumental event … It’s a festival … celebrating Canadians and the diversity of Canadians.”
The March built on the success of the Campaign Life Coalition-organized National ‘Pride’ Flag Walk-Out day in June 2023, an event CLC organized in eight provinces again in 2024 during which an estimated half of all schools across Canada were affected by the walk-out.
