The following resolution was adopted at the national convention in Chilliwack, B.C., July 8, 1989, of the educational (Alliance for Life) and political (Campaign Life Coalition) arms of pro-life.
“The Canadian pro-life movement is united in its demand for an uncompromising abortion law which protects each Canadian unborn child from the time of conception. Following weekend meetings in Chilliwack, B.C, July 6-8, 10989, directors of Alliance for Life and Campaign Life Coalition released the following joint statements:
‘Having met with our membership, we are strengthened in our resolve to work unceasingly to ensure the right of every Canadian child to birth uncompromising federal legislation protecting every un-born Canadian citizen from abortion at any stage of pregnancy and for any reason whatsoever.
We fully expect that Parliament will address this issue at its earliest opportunity, and further expect that Parliament will exercise its mandate to protect the human rights and human life of its smallest and most defenseless citizens.”
The statement follows a national conference and the Annual General Meetings of both organizations, during which their memberships renewed their commitment to complete protection for the unborn child.
