On December 10, 1990, over 100 Toronto CLC activists honored well-known pro-life writer and researcher. The Interim editor, Father Alphonse de Valk, first at a Mass and then a luncheon, celebrating his 25 years as a priest.
Acknowledging tributes paid by National President Jim Hughes and Father Ted Colleton, Father de Valk, who has spent time in jail for picketing outside of Henry Morgentaler’s abortuary, spoke, often with humor, of the circumstances which led him to his vocation as a priest.
He went on to reaffirm the priesthood by saying that not only has he never looked back but looks forward to the next 25 years so he can write sequel to Father Colleton’s book Yes, I’d do it again. He intends to call his book by the same title.
