Toronto: After 14 years of publication, “Canada’s magazine for gay liberation Body Politic, announced it will end publication with its February 1987 issue. By almost any standards of normal behaviour, Body Politic’s articles, photos, and illustrations were obscene. Yet, it managed to beat the charge of distributing indecent material through the mail in a five-year court battle related to the article “Men loving boys loving men.” One of the attorneys who rushed to Body Politic’s aid in this legal case was Canadian Civil Liberties Association lawyer Ian Scott, presently Attorney-General of Ontario.
