Mary Zwicker:
Individuals who suffer from gender confusion are more likely to be on the autism spectrum and vice versa, studies reveal.
Various studies have demonstrated a link between Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and gender confusion, revealing that a higher percentage of gender confused individuals are on the autism spectrum compared to “cis-gender” people, while at the same time, higher numbers of individuals with autism experience gender confusion than neurodivergent people.
“Compared to cisgender individuals, transgender and gender-diverse individuals have, on average, higher rates of autism, other neurodevelopmental and psychiatric diagnoses,” a 2020 study, “Elevated rates of autism, other neurodevelopmental and psychiatric diagnoses, and autistic traits in transgender and gender-diverse individuals,” by Varun Warrier et al., reported. “For both autistic and non-autistic individuals, transgender and gender-diverse individuals score, on average, higher on self-report measures of autistic traits, systemizing, and sensory sensitivity, and, on average, lower on self-report measures of empathy.”
This 2020 study, the largest to date on this topic, concluded that “transgender” and “genderqueer” individuals were up to six times more likely to be autistic than “cisgender” individuals. The study was conducted by gathering information from 641,860 individuals, each of whom, according to the report, “completed information on gender, neurodevelopmental and psychiatric diagnoses including autism, and measures of traits relating to autism (self-report measures of autistic traits, empathy, systemizing, and sensory sensitivity).” The information was gathered through various online surveys, with participants ranging in age and background.
The study estimated that “around 1-1.5 per cent of the global population may be autistic,” suggesting that this would mean that “somewhere between 3-9 per cent of transgender and gender-diverse adults may be autistic.”
The study also pointed out that while these numbers are already significant, it must be acknowledged that since many people with ASD remain undiagnosed these numbers could potentially be even higher than reported. The authors stated, “regardless of an autism diagnosis, transgender and gender-diverse adults were also more likely to report a higher level of autistic traits compared with cisgender adults.”
The study also pointed out that, conversely, individuals with ASD are more likely than neurodivergent people to experience gender confusion, with 4.8 per cent to 26 per cent of people presenting at gender clinics having been previously diagnosed with autism, in comparison to 1-2 per cent of the general population.
Other studies have had similar results, with a 2019 study, “Gender Dysphoria in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder,” Elizabeth Hisle-Gorman et al., based on conclusions drawn from some 300,000 participating children between the ages of 2-18, finding that children and adolescents with ASD were four times more likely to present as “gender-diverse” than neurodivergent people of that same age category.
Even the National Autistic Society (NAS) reported that “there is some evidence to show a link between gender dysphoria and autism, and that autistic people may be more likely than other people to have gender dysphoria,” and that more research ought to be done on the topic.
Jack Fonseca, director of political operations at Campaign Life Coalition, told The Interim via email that he believes people with ASD are more likely to fall prey to the trans agenda because those with autism tend to hyper-fixate on certain things. “I believe the reason why autistic people make up such a huge percentage of those who identify as ‘transgender’ has to do with the fact that fixation is a common trait among those with autism spectrum disorder,” Fonseca said. “This correlation can be exacerbated by the fact that autistic people often have very ritualized and repetitive thinking patterns which make the fixation even more intense.”
“Here’s how I believe it works … If a young person on the spectrum happens to become fixated on the idea that ‘gender identity’ might potentially explain why they feel so different or socially awkward, they can convince themselves this is what they must be,” Fonseca explained. “Since they can’t get a break from these repetitive thoughts, from the fixation, and if there’s no proper guidance or support from adults who understand the dangers of gender ideology, they can succumb to it quite easily, eventually declaring themselves to be trans or non-binary.”
Fonseca said that “inevitably for many, come puberty blockers, x-sex hormones and surgical mutilation.”
Fonseca shared a personal experience on the subject, saying he once knew a family whose son, who had already shown certain peculiar traits in his early years, began to obsess over the colour pink in his later years. The family was advised to take their son to a gender clinic, and were planning on following through with transgender “care” when their son received an autism diagnosis. “The counsellor explained this was likely the reason for his fixation with the colour pink,” Fonseca said. “They never took him to the gender clinic, and to this day, he never got sucked into the transgender cult.”
Fonseca went on to say that those who push the trans agenda are causing harm to autistic individuals and taking advantage of them by not delving into the roots of their gender confusion.
“The trans agenda – and those who push it – are taking advantage of autistic individuals by pushing gender theory on them, instead of helping them get to the root of their problems or to cope better with daily life,” Fonseca said.
Two solutions to the problem of those with ASD falling prey to the trans agenda, Fonseca said, would be, firstly, for the government to better prioritize their spending in order to help fund available treatments for children with ASD.
“There is a treatment available for children diagnosed with autism that can be highly effective, if started before the age of 7, called ‘Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention’ (EIBI),” he said. “The problem is that EIBI not accessible to most Canadian families, costing over $90,000 annually, depending on the program. Ontario only funds a small number of families, with hundreds of others languishing on waiting lists.”
A second solution, Fonseca said, is for parents and those who care for autistic individuals to be on the alert that “their child or loved one may be at a greater risk of predatory luring by the trans agenda.” He said, “If caregivers can be taught that there exists such a high rate of gender identity disorder among those on the spectrum, and that it’s caused by fixation, they will be in a much better position to gently and lovingly guide them away from such an unhealthy obsession, sparing them much confusion, chemical castration and surgical mutilation.”
However, despite Fonseca’s belief that autistic people suffering from gender dysphoria ought to receive the care they need, various so-called autistic “support” groups have come out in favour of “gender-affirming care” for autistic individuals who identify as something other than their birth gender. One such organization, the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network (ASAN), said in a joint statement with the National Center for Transgender Equality and the National LGBTQ Task Force, that autistic people ought not to be denied the “human right” to receive “gender-affirming care,” including “transition related care.”
“Everyone should be able to live as the gender they know themselves to be, and autistic people are no exception,” the statement said. It asserted that all “Trans and gender nonconforming autistic people” have the “right” to respect and dignity for their chosen gender behaviour and appearance, and that they be allowed to “make medical decisions and access affirming health care, including transition-related medical care and trans-competent services related to autism.”
When asked by The Interim what he saw as propelling the transgender agenda forward, Fonseca said that he believed it to be due to a number of reasons. Firstly, he believes that the rise of Marxism, which “dumbs down the population, making them easier to control in the totalitarian future they seek to create,” plays a large role in the push for the trans agenda.
“After all, if you can make a boy believe that he’s a girl, you can lead them to believe anything with the right dose of propaganda,” he said.
Fonseca also said that the push for trans agenda is certainly fueled by globalism, and the push by people and organizations such as Bill Gates, George Soros, the WHO, and the United Nations to depopulate the world. “Gates for example, has admitted many times on camera that he wants to see the human population vastly reduced,” Fonseca said. “This is why he pushes abortion and sterilization so aggressively. It’s also why these depopulation advocates are pushing transgenderism. When you cut off little boys’ penises and remove the uteruses of little girls, you are rendering them infertile. No more babies. That means a reduced human population, if not human extinction, and that’s what the globalists want.”
Lastly, Fonseca reminded The Interim that Satan himself is behind the push to normalize the mutilation of healthy males and females, with those who worship him all too eager to push his agenda. “They push transgender ideology because they know it pleases their master, Lucifer, to see tens of thousands of children being chopped up and mutilated, waging war against their own bodies which reflect the image of God in creation, as male and female,” he said. “The devil celebrates when humans attack the very image of God in creation.”
