STELLARTON, N.S. — Pro-lifer Roseanne Skoke has resurfaced in politics, this time as a Liberal candidate in the up-coming provincial election in Nova Scotia.

The Stellarton lawyer was acclaimed Feb. 20 as Liberal candidate for Pictou Centre. This will be her third major political campaign in the past year.

The Central Nova MP, known for her strong pro-life views, lost a Liberal nomination bid last March for the federal riding of Pictou-Antigonish-Guysborough.

In July, she finished third in a provincial leadership race that saw Russell MacLellan named premier of Nova Scotia.

Ms. Skoke is going up against Conservative party Leader John Hamm in the Pictou Centre riding. The election is set for March 24.

“We’re going to recapture what rightfully belongs to us,” she told the Halifax Herald. “We are revved up and ready to go on the campaign trail.”
