On Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 5, 1985 The Canadian Youth Pro-Life Organization (CYPLO) will hold its annual National Conference at Don Bosco High School in Toronto.

This is CYPLO’s second National Conference and the theme for this year is “Now is the time.” The theme represents the immediate necessity for youth-involvement in all the manifestations of the pro-life movement: picketing, writing letters, counseling, etc.

The list of speakers to this conference is impressive. Certainly anyone who wished an overview of current pro-life action could not do better then to register for this conference to hear: John Nunziata, pro-life Liberal MP for York South-Western; Beverly Hadland, who operates a counselling service for women who have abortions; Noel Martin, vice principal of Don Bosco Secondary School; Grace Petrasek, president of REAL Woman of Canada; Professor Donald DeMarco, the philosophy professor from St. Jerome’s Collage, Waterloo, Ontario; Reverend Ken Campbell, president of Renaissance International; Denyse Handler, former editor of The Human; James Hughes, president of Campaign Life Canada; Qwen Landolt, legal counsel for Toronto and Area Right to Life; political science professor William Mathie of Brock University; and Reverend Ron Marr, editor of The Christmas Inquirer.

The cost per person for this weekend conference is $35.00 and includes three meals, a banquet dinner and films including Bernard Nathanson’s The Silent Scream.

The basic rate of $35.00 does not include overnight accommodation for out-of-towners. However, a special hotel rate has been arranged with The Cambridge Motor Hotel, only minutes by car or public transportation from the conference site. CYPLO organizers recommend that hotel accommodations are booked at least two weeks before the conference date. The Cambridge Motor Hotel is situated at 600 Dixon Road near Highway 401. The phone number is (416) 248-7871 and toll-free at 1-800-268-1310.
