More than 30 students from Manitoba, Alberta, Ontario and Newfoundland came together in Toronto recently for a pro-life symposium weekend.
Students’ primary focus was activating pro-life groups on university campuses across the country.
Members of Western Life and Kings College Life (University of Western Ontario), two of the limited number of university pro-life groups, provided information on bringing the pro-life word to fellow students. Several speakers offered information on fund-raising and accessing information.
The highlight of the weekend was the commitment of all students present to share their effort and information via the Internet and the telephone. This will be further aided by the first Canadian pro-life website. It’s expected the web page and network of students will be up and running by January 31, 1997.
Students also initiated the National Campus Life Link (NCLL), a student-run national pro-life movement. The aim of NCLL is to keep the pro-life issue prominent on university campus across Canada.
