CHARLOTTETOWN- Voices for Life, Prince Edward Island’s dynamic young pro-life group, will host a youth conference here June 26-28, in conjunction with the 1997 National Pro-Life Convention.

The theme of the youth conference will be Celebrate Life, in Ourselves and Others.

“We are not just against abortion. We are for life! We want to celebrate that great gift that we have been given by the Lord,” says Voices for Life president Jennifer DesRoches, a graduating student at UPEI.

The youth conference will be upbeat and supportive, informative, and practical. It will include a concert, coffee house, a question box, a youth panel, and a workshop on developing practical ways for young people to celebrate and promote life.

There will be time for earning, for activity, for fun, for sharing talents and convictions and support.

Music will be very much a part of the presentation by speaker Eric Genuis.

A professional musician with four CDs to his credit, he has done AIDS benefits, made many concert tours in Europe, and played to audiences of young people all over North America.

The young people’s involvement in the upcoming convention in Prince Edward Island reflects the greater efforts to build pro-life networks.

May cite the importance of continuity in forging greater pro-life links among Canada’s younger generation.
