One item of extra special significance in the Knights of Columbus’ new Crusade for Life initiative is the decision not to invite persons who support abortion to any Knights of Columbus event.

The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic fraternal organization supporting the church and its priests.

It also raises funds for a number of charitable organizations.

A series of resolutions adopted by the knights during a recent gathering at their New Haven headquarter affirmed the order’s commitment to the right to life cause.

Part of a crucial resolution reads: “Further resolved that we not allow (abortion supporters) to rent or otherwise use facilities over which we have control, and of not bestowing on them honors or privileges of our order of any kind, inviting them to serve as honorary chairpersons of events, celebrations or committees, speak at Knights of Columbus events, or hold any office in the (order).”
