More than 8,000 people gathered at Moncton Coliseum to see Mother Teresa officially open the Catholic Foundation for Human Life last June 23rd.

In her 40-minute address, Mother Teresa implored Canadians to “never allow in this beautiful country . . . a single unborn child to feel unwanted, unloved.”  She called abortion “the greatest destroyer of peace, love and joy.”

Mother Teresa was invited to Moncton by David Little, president of the CFHL.  She agreed to be a spiritual advisor to the organization.

Mother Teresa also spoke about the importance of charity and chastity to the enthusiastic crowd who gave her several standing ovations.

The rally lasted about an hour and a half.  After the rally at the coliseum, she visited the CFHL headquarters to perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony.  Moncton Archbishop Donat Chiasson called her a “true witness of the gospel.”  The CFHL raised about $8,000 for Mother Teresa to use in her work.  Ticket sales – at $5 each – helped raise $6,000 for the CFHL.  The organization will use the money to establish pregnancy crisis centers and to design a media campaign promoting life, marriage, chastity and the family.
