One of the group discussions during the recent Life and Family Conference was a forum on the recent Vatican Document on Life and Procreations. This document, intended as a teaching paper, is concerned that love-making not be separated from life-giving, and inevitability with new medical technology such as In Vitro fertilization.
The fact that we now have the scientific technology to remove, fertilize, and freeze or re-insert an ovum, should not mean that biology dictates morality, Catholic are instructed.
The Vatican Document does not challenge science, only certain technology. Each life is sacred, and not to be haphazardly tampered with. If scientists are permitted to continue on their present path, the implications are frightening.
