Internationally renowned geneticist Jerome Lejeune will be speaking to pro-lifers in Montreal and Toronto on April 12 and 13 consecutively. His visit to Canada is being sponsored by Campagne Quebec Vie and Life Ethics Educational Association/Campaign Life Coalition Toronto.
Lejeune is known throughout the worldwide medical community as the scientist who dis-covered the extra chromosome which causes Down Syndrome. He is presently a profess-or of fundamental genetics at the Rene Descartes University of Paris.
As a staunch defender of life, Lejeune is noted for his gentle, yet persuasive manner which can soften the hardest of hearts. President of Campaign Life Coalition Canada, Jim Hughes, described Lejeune as an orator “who paints powerful mental images with his words describing the unborn child which compare to the beautiful visual images created by Canadian artist William Kurelek.”
In late March, Life Ethics Educational Association (LEEA) Speaker’s Series will be pre-senting author and economist, Jacqueline Kasun who wrote “The War Against Population” a well- documented book which debunks the myth of over-population. She will be the keynote speaker at a one-day conference on population and taking place on Saturday, March 27, 1993 in Toronto.
The June speaker in the Series is Dr. Delores Grier, Vice-Chancellor of Archdiocese of New York and Founder and President of Association of Black Catholics Against Abortion. A lively, captivating woman, Dolores Grier attracts large crowds at every conference. Her topic will be “Abortion and Race Genocide.”
