Pro-Life action groups are being formed along both shores of the lower St. Lawrence River.

In a recent organizing tour, at the invitation of local groups, Lucille Lavoie-Gordon, president of Coalition Pour la Vie, Quebec, visited Baie-Comeau, Hauterive and Matane.  She spoke on Respect for Life and Our Duty as Citizens at four Masses at the Baie-Comeau cathedral.  She also spoke, and showed the French version of The Silent Scream, to several other groups in the Baie-Comeau and Hauterive areas before making the three-hour ferry trip to Matane, on the South shore.  There she spoke to a meeting at the City Hall.

Branches of Coalition, Quebec, were formed in each of the places visited.  The newly-formed groups are already hard at work collecting signatures to a petition which is being prepared for presentation to the Quebec Government.  The Baie-Comeau group is also determined to make their views known to their Member of Parliament, Brian Mulroney, and they intend, at the same time, to find out why he has not responded to the more-than-a-million Jury For Life postcards he received from all over Canada.
