The Daily Caller highlights a story from Ohio about an abortion facility that has been fined $25,000 for “shocking health and sanitation violations.” These stories are no longer all that shocking because freestanding abortion facilities often slum it in terms of adhering to medical regulations. As the Kermit Gosnell story illustrates, state regulators often ignore abortion mill violations. Here’s a partial list of violations:

The Bedford Heights Planned Parenthood was notified of the fine in a 26-page notice from the Ohio Department of Health on July 30 after failing its March inspection. Violations include failing to properly vet doctors it allowed to perform abortions, test new employees for tuberculosis, conduct annual performance reviews of all staff, clean and disinfect surgical equipment, properly store “frozen [human] tissue,” dispose urine samples (many of which were found sitting around unlabeled throughout the clinic), and dispose single-use medical equipment and expired medical supplies, as well as improperly training staff in maintenance of medical and testing equipment.

There are more violations listed in the DC story.
