On the morning of September 8, Toronto and area activists held a vigil in support of P.C. David Packer.  This vigil coincided with Packer’s scheduled hearing at the Police Tribunal.

About 40 supporters came and went during the steady rainfall of the morning rush hour to lend their prayers and encouragement to Packer.  Many handouts explaining our presence were distributed to curious passers-by.  Signs were carried praising Packer’s heroism, as cited in a recent letter from Mother Teresa to officer Packer.

As the vigil drew to a close, many enthusiastic supporters went on to the courtroom to hear the evidence being presented.  The Trial lasted two days, and Officer Packer maintained his composure throughout.  His honesty and sincerity shone through in his testimony.
