| As we went to press, there was some unexpected good news. Richard Moon’s report on theCanada Human Rights Commission recommended repealing section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act which has been used to curtail the freedoms of speech, the press and religion, under the guise of punishing and preventing hate. (See page 6 news briefs.) This is a great first step, but if recent years have proven anything, it is that the HRCs have out-lived their original purpose and today operate as kangaroo courts violating the real human rights of Canadians. Better than repealing section 13 would be to listen to Ezra Levant’s advice about all federal and provincial HRCs: Close. Them. Down.
