Rev. Ludwig Nessa, 41, a Norwegian Lutheran Pastor, is to appear before a court for opposing abortion.

In Norway the Lutheran Church is the official church with the king as head of both church and state. As a civil servant therefore, Rev. Nessa has defied his employer, the State, which has legalized abortion.

As a pastor, he has defied his bishop who approves of abortion.

The bishop asked the state to sue Pastor Nessa and discipline him. The trial is set for February 5, demonstrating that secularism will not tolerate freedom of action or speech when one of its acknowledged principles is at stake.

A protest action took place outside the Norwegian consulate in Toronto on January 15 organized by Campaign Life Coalition.
