Coalition for Life- Quebec has announced that a petition containing 120,676 signatures was presented to the National Assembly, on December 19th, 1986, by Mr. Robert Middlemiss, member of the Quebec assembly for Pontiac.
The 120,676 petitioners request that the law concerning abortion be respected according to article 251 of the Criminal Code. They also ask that illegal abortion clinics in the CLSC and others, be closed and that paying for illegal abortions by Quebec Medicare cease.
Since December 19th, over 5,000 more signatures have been received.
