A memorial service and burial were held in Minneapolis in January, following the discovery of the bodies of thirteen aborted babies tossed in a dumpster behind an abortion clinic in suburban Robbinsdale.

“What kind of human beings discard other human beings with coffee grounds and cigarette butts in today’s trash?  Asked Michael Gaworski, president of Pro-Life Action ministries, “Finding babies’ bodies in a trash dumpster graphically illustrated the true nature of abortion.  Abortion is a violent inhumane attack on innocent human beings.”

Mr. Gaworski said that medical records containing names and addresses of women patients at the clinic were also found.  These records showed abortions listed as “voluntary interruptions of pregnancy.”

A local neonatologist identified two of the aborted babies as in the fourth or fifth month of pregnancy, commenting that these are babies of nearly the same age as some he routinely cares for in his unit at the local medical centre.  One of the babies was clearly a boy, with discernible male genitals.

The size of some of the babies indicates that the clinic is performing illegal abortions, since Minnesota law permits second-trimester abortions in hospitals only, not in clinics.  However, clinic personnel denied that records have been tossed in the dumpster and also denied that they perform abortions past the twelfth week of pregnancy.

The local pollution control agency has started an investigation to see whether the clinic has violated regulations which require body parts from surgery to be incinerated.  Clinic staff say they use the same systems as hospitals, and had no comment on how the babies got into the dumpster behind their clinic.
