There is an increasing conviction among pro-lifers that our activities must be supported by prayer. Because of this, a Prayers for Life Crusade has sprung up in Toronto and in many other parts of Canada.
In Toronto, several Masses are offered for pro-life intentions in various churches throughout the year. Members of Prayers for Life attend each Mass, distributing a prayer which they hope people will say each day on behalf of unborn children. Two Masses scheduled for July are: Sunday, July 10 at 12 noon at St. Roch’s, and Sunday, July 17 at 11:45 a.m. at St. Augustine of Canterbury. Notices about the Masses appear regularly in the Catholic Register’s Around the Archdiocese’s column.
Some great news of pro-life spiritual activity in a couple of parishes is that at St. John Vianney Chapel in Barrie the 11 o’clock Mass on the last Sunday of each month is offered for respect for life and at a parish in Winnipeg a Mass is offered every Tuesday evening followed by the Spiritual Rosary, recited by members of the Legion of Mary, for the pro-life cause.
