The practice of homosexuality is an offence against God and against nature.  As an offence against God it leads one further into sin, darkening the intellect and weakening the will.  Like all vices, unchecked it corrodes the moral values of its practitioners while helping to spread other evils.

As an offence against nature, the practice of homosexuality in North America has brought us AIDS, that mysterious plague which now has spread beyond the homosexual community and strikes down innocents as well.  As is expected, the anti-family forces boldly deny that God has anything to do with it.  Thus, the Globe and Mail informed us on August 17, that, “AIDS has been labeled a ‘homosexual disease,’ but homosexuality is a red herring” and “AIDS points no moral fingers; it is the product of no divine judgment.”  Those of us who prefer the Sacred Scriptures to the Globe read in Romans 1:26-27:

“That is why God has abandoned them to degrading passions: why their women have turned from natural intercourse to unnatural practices and why their menfolk have given up natural intercourse to be consumed with passion for each other, men doing shameless things with men and getting an appropriate award for their perversions.”

In Canada homosexual acts between adults in private were legalized in 1969, at the same time as abortion.  This was no coincidence.  Those who pushed for the right to abort the unborn – such as the Globe and Mail – which published more editorials demanding legalized abortion than all other big-city newspaper combined in the years 1963 to 1969 – also favoured freedom for homosexual activity, just as they lent weight to the feminist attack on the family.  Needless to say, it was all done under the banner of pluralism and “liberating” people from their “outdated inhibitions.”  Today, the same alliance of radical feminists, pro-abortionists and “pro-sexual orientation” groups is in full battle gear to impose their interpretation of “equality rights.”  (See articles “Soapbox for Sodomites,” pp. 10-11 and “Radical feminists,” pp. 16-17)

North American society is now spending hundreds of millions of tax payers’ dollars to contain this man-made social disease.  An end to this spiraling cost is nowhere in sight.  Meanwhile, in our House of Commons, efforts are underway – led by NDP MP Svend Robinson and the radical feminists in all three parties – to protect homosexual activity under the Charter of Rights as a perfectly legitimate “lifestyle.”  Except for the legalization of abortion in 1969, it is hard to think of a more perverse way of destroying the common good of this nation.
