Campaign Life Coalition has launched a website with a petition and social media campaign to “Demand Justin Repeal This Policy of Exclusion, Intolerance & Discrimination” — the policy, of course, being Justin Trudeau’s diktat that all Liberal candidates in the future must be “pro-choice.” The Toronto Sun has a story on CLC’s campaign, reporting, “Canada’s largest anti-abortion group says that for democracy to flourish, pluralistic views and diversity of voices must be permitted on issues of conscience in the democratic process.” That is key. The focus of the JustinRepealIntolerance.ca website focuses not on abortion but the loss of conscience and democratic rights:
We believe the policy is a vehicle for Justin Trudeau to suppress freedom of conscience and diversity of opinion, so that on fundamental moral issues only his personal view can prevail.
The website and petition notes that Trudeau’s position violates Section 2 of the Charter, abridging the “freedom of conscience and religion” and “freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression.” It is all so very … illiberal. I guess Justin Trudeau wasn’t joking last year when he said he admired the Chinese “basic dictatorship.”
