From Alex Schadenberg, executive director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition:

Motion 388, the motion to clarify the assisted suicide law in Canada concerning Internet Suicide Predators unanimously passed at second reading today. The Motion will now go to the Justice Committee for further discussion. The Euthanasia Prevention Coalition worked hard supporting Harold Albrecht MP (Kitchener-Conestoga) to develop and present Motion 388.

M-388 would apply prohibitions against aiding and abetting suicide to counselling or encouraging suicide over internet communications. Albrecht wrote about M-388 here. Alex Schadenberg wrote about M-388 at his blog in October and The Interim covered Albrecht’s motion in our July issue.
