One more time: contra the claims of Democrats, including President Barack Obama, and the abortion industry, Planned Parenthood does not do mammograms. Yet Obama trotted out that phony claim again during last night’s presidential debate. Charmaine Yoest of Americans United for Life didn’t like Obama’s emotionally powerful but highly misleading appeal to mammogram provision:

However, one of the most bald-faced falsehoods the president asserted tonight was that Planned Parenthood’s ability to provide mammograms is on the line in this election. The truth is: Planned Parenthood does not provide mammograms. They only refer women to other clinics that can provide that service. As a breast-cancer survivor myself, I am deeply offended that the president and Planned Parenthood continue to assert that they provide mammograms when they do not.

Yoest, a pro-life concedes that PP offers mammogram referrals, but as Eliana Johnson explains at NRO’s The Corner:

But Planned Parenthood, with few exceptions, does not provide mammograms. To test the president’s statement in the real world, I called several Planned Parenthood offices in the New York City area today to ask about scheduling a mammogram. “We actually don’t offer that here,” one office told me. “You might want to call 311, they actually have lists of places you could go to.” When I asked, “You don’t provide them like the president said?,” I was told “No.”

To be clear, the PP clinic that told Johnson to call 311 apparently doesn’t even do referrals.
