Actress Elizabeth Banks is plumping for Barack Obama and Planned Parenthood. The Hill reports on a pro-Obama ad featuring the actress, in which the star of Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Role Models and What to Expect When Expecting says:
“So for that little 5 percent that Mitt Romney decides he doesn’t agree with, he’s going to take away cancer screenings? What is he doing? He’s going to take away people’s access to healthcare close by? We’re talking about working-class ladies who need healthcare. That’s it. That’s Planned Parenthood.”
This is disingenuous, and America’s largest abortion provider of “reproductive health services” should be called on it. If that 5% of services (abortion) is the cause of the problem, why doesn’t Planned Parenthood give up doing abortions to save its state funding for those other vital services? But as both the Obama and Romney campaigns know — and Planned Parenthood knows — this isn’t about breast cancer screening, its about abortion funding. Romney and Planned Parenthood’s pro-life opponents are the only ones honest about it.
