Looking at life

Reflections on why we march Donald DeMarco:  The word “life” has several shades of meaning. In this article I call attention to just two of its meanings. The first is the life that is the focus of the various marches for life. It refers to the sacredness of life. All human life, including the life of the unborn, is invested with an [...]

Paul Tuns: On Feb. 3, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons issued a new recommendation that so-called gender affirming surgery should not be carried out on minors until the age of 19, citing professional ethics and the lack of quality research supporting such surgeries as reasons for the new guidelines. The next day, the American Medical Association issued a statement saying that [...]

Greenland has highest abortion rate in the world

Mary Zwicker, Europe Correspondent:  The world’s largest island is home to the world’s highest abortion rate, a history of forced sterilization, and extreme anti-family policies. “Greenlanders deserve better than abortion, and a government that protects and provides for both women and their preborn children,” said Focus on the Family, a global pro-family ministry group. Following Denmark’s legalization of abortion in 1973, abortion [...]

Convention affirms Poilievre leadership

“Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.” Both literally and figuratively, the Pete Townsend-penned line from The Who’s iconic, politically inspired track Won’t Get Fooled Again rang ever-true as Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre retained his leadership with 87.4 per cent support among voting delegates at the party‘s 2026 Calgary Convention. According to a party spokesman who spoke with CBC, a [...]

Debriefing after the Conservative convention

Josie Luetke: Like a kicked dog coming back for more, I flew to Calgary for the 2026 Conservative Party of Canada convention at the tail end of January. As pro-life candidates have been disqualified by the party and leader Pierre Poilievre has gone over to the dark side—fully embracing abortion, same-sex “marriage,” and even the status quo on euthanasia—many of Campaign Life [...]

Despite losing on policies, CLC pleased with Conservative convention results

Interim Staff: At their recent national convention, the Conservative Party of Canada transformed an opportunity to lead the charge on the protection of Canada’s founding values into an exercise in defending the modern political status quo. And then there was this, February 2026

Why do right-wing populist governments vote with the left at the EU? This is a question that has perplexed many. Why is it that conservative countries like Hungary, Italy, and Poland almost uniformly stand with the rest of the European Union countries in supporting far-left measures? Are they strong-armed, bullied, afraid of losing friends, afraid of losing trade opportunities, afraid of retaliation [...]

Canada can’t trust media on church matters

National Affairs, Rory Leishman: For the past several years, the secular mass media in Canada have fanned the flames of anti-Christian hate, by publishing uncorroborated allegations of mass murder, torture, and other atrocities in the Church-run Indian Residential Schools. On Dec. 11, The Globe and Mail was at it again, this time defaming dedicated Catholic nuns who cared for unwed mothers and [...]
