Quebec’s bucks-for-babies a qualified success

Critics have described it as putting a band-aid on a heart attack, but Quebec’s controversial baby bonus program is now in its fifth year and appears to be reaping some positive results. More people were born in this province in 1990 than in any year since 1979, although preliminary statistics indicate that growth may have leveled off in 1991. As of 1990, [...]

Vote No

Campaign Life Coalition and Alliance for Life do not take a position on the Referendum. The following editorial, therefore, is the opinion of the editor. *** Since 1980 Canadians have faced half a dozen government- manufactured “crises” about taxes, trade and unity. With a gun to the head, voters are told to say “Yes” or else they are accused of destroying the [...]

Yellowknife’s Women’s Centre

In 1989, grass roots Canadians were becoming educated on issues as never before. Pro-lifers were grappling with the Supreme Court ruling on abortion, groups like Kids First were lobbying on behalf of families, and REAL Women was exposing the federal government’s lavish funding on feminist groups. In Yellowknife that spring, participants in International Women’s Day decided to form a Women’s Centre ( [...]

Ru-486, a dangerous drug

The Interim has published several articles on RU-486. Versions of this article have appeared in the Ottawa Citizen and the Vancouver Sun. We print it here because of the issue’s importance. “Dumping chemicals into women’s bodies – specifically into their reproductive systems - has generated billions of dollars in profits for multinational pharmaceutical companies. Saving babies

When Joanne Dieleman talks about saving babies from the clutches of abortionists, it’s not idle chitchat. In a remarkable booklet, author Joanne, long time pro-life activist and rescuer, mother of eight children and 249 foster children and grandmother of eight, tells how to save babies from instant death while their mothers – often unwittingly – march their children into a death camp. [...]
