International Women’s Week: An Ottawa story with Toronto Photos

What is it about a simple pro-family position which poses such a threat to International Women’s Week?             The question hit the headlines in Ottawa recently after R.E.A.L. Women of Canada was excluded from participation in International Women’s Week in 1985 on the grounds that its “philosophy” was “diametrically opposed to the goals and objectives” of International [...]

Why I joined REAL women

It’s not every day that one’s asked to stand up in front of a crowd and talk about why one chooses to be identified with a pro-family and pro-life organization such as R.E.A.L. Women of Canada. So I’m very happy to have been asked to speak to you on this very subject…particularly from the point of view of a [...]

Catholic Civil Rights League

A new organization, the Catholic Civil Rights League, is concerned with countering evidence of anti-religious bias in three areas: the media; the schools; and the legal-political arena.             The fledgling group received its first publicity from the Catholic Register which covered its first meeting in a front page story (March 16). The editor, Larry Henderson, also devoted an [...]

Social Justice and Evangelism: Part II

In seeking justice for our nation, there are limitations and governing principles to which we must strictly adhere.   First, we must be content to let God handle the retributive or punitive aspects of justice. The goal of Christians in pursuing justice is to restrain evil and to protect the innocent. This, in practical terms means that [...]

Protestants & Abortion: Anglican controversy

The Anglican Church does not know its own mind on the issue of abortion, or does it? This was the question raised recently in a controversy about a pro-Morgentaler editorial in the Church’s national monthly.   The editorial was rejected outright by some Bishops and some individual Anglicans, conditionally supported by others and firmly defended by [...]

Abortion: Videotape of abortion process

Mr. Gordon Taylor (Bow River): Mr. Speaker, if a nuclear bomb were dropped on Ottawa probably 50 000 humans would die, and every newspaper and every government in the world would call it a disaster. Yet, every year in Canada, some 50,000 human babies are murdered and it is barely newsworthy. Perhaps it is because we do not [...]

The best income tax tip

Letters, such as the one printed below(but not exact copies), could be included with you income tax return. Another letter on the same subject could be sent to your Federal Member of Parliament, at the House of Commons, [...]

The Calgary ketchup case
